Wenn man die MC 202 mit der MC 200 vergleicht, fällt auf, daß das Tragwerk beinahe identisch ist, und der Rumpf (ausgenommen die Länge) vom Brandschott bis zum Leitwerk ebenfalls. Im Grunde genommen war die MC 202 nichts anderes als eine MC 200, mit dem Alfa Romeo AR. 1000 (Lizenzbau des Deutschen DB 601) anstelle des Sternmotors ausgerüstet. Dieser Tausch sollte sich als Vorteil erweisen. Die Endgeschwindigkeit stieg auf beinahe 600 km/h. Das Modell von Supermodel hat schon Jahrzehnte auf dem Buckel und ich war auch noch nicht so erfahren wie heute; dennoch waren solch exotische Spielereien wie Gummiräder und ein relativ gutes Fahrwerk etwas Besonderes. Zudem war das seinerzeit der einzige erhältliche Bausatz einer MC 202 in 1:72. Der Bau war unkompliziert, ich ergänzte lediglich Visier und Gurten und eine selbstgezogene Kanzel. Die Bemalung nachm ich noch mit einem Pinsel nach Anleitung vor, die Kennung lag teils bei und stammt teils aus der Grabbelkiste.

Comparing the MC 202 with it's predecessor MC 200, it becomes evident that the wings are almost identical and so is the fuselage (except of the length) from the bulkhead backwards to the rear. Basically the MC 202 was not much more than a MC 200, equipped with the Alfa Romeo AR.1000 (a license built German DB 601) instead of the MC 200's radial emgine. This change proved to become an advantage. The top-speed raised to approximately 600 km/h. The Supermodel kit is a really antique one and my skilfulness in modelling was not so experienced as nowadays; nevertheless such exotic gadgets like rubber tyres and a rather well moulded undercarriage were something special. Additionally, at that time this was the only kit available of a MC 202 in 1:72. Building this kit was rather simple, I just added a gun-sight and seat-belts and a selfmade vacu-canopy. I made the camouflage as told in the kit's guidance with a simple brush, the markings partially came from the kit and from my spare-box.
