Um die Airfix Mosquito Mk XVIII zu verbessern, war folgendes nötig: Zuallererst - für fast alle Airfix-Bausätze braucht man einen Zurüstsatz fürs Cockpit (und viel Geld), oder sehr viel Geduld und noch mehr Erfahrung im Eigenbau. Ich habe das Cockpit selbst gemacht. Ich zog mir auch eine neue Kanzel, der Airfix-Teil ist nicht gut genug. Aber der Rest des 1/72er Bausatzes ist in Ordnung. Die Maße stimmen, die Motoren, Auspuff, Propeller, alles O.K. Auch die große Molins-Kanone ist da - na ja, nicht die ganze, nur die Mündung; aber es ist doch toll, daß uns Airfix die Chance gab, hiermit einen echten U-Boot-Jäger zu bauen, oder nicht? Es war eine Herausforderung, alles sauber zu machen, und es ist recht gut gelungen.

To optimize the Airifx Mosquito Mk XVIII following works were necessary: At first and most important - to all those Airfix kits you need an update-kit of the cockpit (and much money), or much, much patience and as much approvement to scratchbuild it by yourself. I decided to scratchbuild the cockpit. I also built a vacu canopy by myself, because the original part of Airfix is not so well. But the rest of this 1/72 kit is rather fine. The fitting, the measures, the engine-cowlings, the exhausts, the prop's, all O.K. This kit also has the Molins-gun inside - aah, yes, not the whole gun, just the nozzle; but it is very nice, that Airfix gives us the chance to build a real submarine-hunter, isn't it? In summary this kit was a provocation to do all well, but I think, I succeeded rather fine.
