Die Dewoitine D.500-Reihe war eine typische Erscheinung der 1930er Jahre. Das Muster D.501 bzw. D.510 war der erste Ganzmetalltiefdecker der französischen Luftwaffe und bis 1940 in geringen Stückzahlen noch im Einsatz, obwohl sie zu der Zeit schon veraltet war. Der Heller Bausatz stammt aus den 1980ern und dementsprechend ist die Qualität. Es gab aber keinen anderen, so mußte ich mit diesem zurechtkommen. Die Paßgenauigkeit ist gut, aber das Innenleben fehlte. Da mir zu dieser Zeit auch Unterlagen der D.510 nicht vorlagen, baute ich das Modell einfach zusammen und bemalte es per Hand. Die Markierungen lagen bei, lediglich die Trikoloe am Seitenruder wurde ebenfalls handgemalt.

The Dewoitine D.500-Seires was a typical appearance of the 1930ies. The sample D.501 or rather D.510 was the first all-metal low-wing momoplane of the French Airfoces and was in action until 1940 in some small numbers, although antiquated at that time. The Heller kit issues from the 1980ies or earlier und it's quailtiy is accordingly to that. But there was no other kit in 1/72, so I just had to manage with it. The parts' fittng is well, but there was nearly no interior. Lack of documents of the D.510 at that time, I just could not do more than to build the model and applied the camouflage with a simple brush. The markings were added to the kit, just the Tricolore on the fin's rudder was also painted by hand.
