Um die Mtchell zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Der Aufwand war nicht sehr groß. Dieser alte Italeri-Bausatz in 1/72 ist von Paßgenauigkeit und Ausstattung her sehr ordentlich. Den fünften Stern hat er verfehlt, weil im Bugbereich die Inneneinrichtung doch sehr spärlich ausgefallen ist. Fahrwerk und Motoren sind gut detailliert, der Waffenturm bietet sich noch für Verfeinerungen an. Ich beschränkte mich beim Eigenbau auf das Bombenschützenabteil im Bug und fügte im Cockpit nur noch Gurten hinzu. Die Bewaffnung ließ ich unverändert - die nach Rußland gelieferten Mitchell wurden ja ohne solche überstellt. Da ich aber keinerlei Unterlagen über die russische Bewaffnung hatte, blieb mir keine Wahl. Die Bemalung erfolgte nach einem uralten Foto, das ich mal wo gesehen hatte. Die sowjetischen Hoheitsabzeichen hatte ich noch in Reserve. << North American B-25 B << North American B-25 C

To optimize the Mitchell, following works were necessary: There was not much expense to waste. This old Italeri-kit was fitting very fine and the outfit was rather well. The kit missed the fifth star in ranking, because the front compartment's interior is poor. The engines and landing-gear are detailed well, the gun-turret is offering itself to get some more detailing. I restricted the self-made-work to the bombardiers compartment in the front and added seat-belts to the pilot's cockpit. I decided to make no changes to the armament - the Mitchell's were dlivered to Russia without it. Lack of knowledge about the Russian weapons, I had no choice. The camouflage was done with the help of an old picture, which I had seen once before. The soviet markings were found in my spare-box. << North American B-25 B << North American B-25 C
